ZORC high-frequency transient overvoltage surge suppressor

We introduce ZORC, a unique surge suppressor for motor, generator and transformer protection, manufactured by Strike Technologies, South Africa. Many thousands of ZORC surge suppressors have been installed over the past 25 years, solving the pressing problem of insulation failures and attendant repair and downtime costs.

Every year huge costs are incurred by end-users because of insulation failures on motors, generators and transformers. A frequent problem is high-frequency surges, transients, voltage fluctuations or switching transients. ZORC surge suppressor eliminates multiple pre-striking and re-striking (re-ignition) transients associated with breaker switching. ZORC also halves the magnitude of steep wave-front surges impinging on the load terminals (ie eliminates voltage doubling effects).

However, ZORC is designed to protect against overvoltages caused by lightning strikes.
