Fuses are installed on both sides of each string since the system is unearthed.
The fuses should be able to interrupt the low-fault currents resulting from the failure of the solar cells while they also cope with high fault currents that may result from failure of an inverter. In addition, the fuse is exposed to cyclic loading, depending on the temperature of the PV module. Appropriate fuses meet operation class gPV according to IEC60269-6.
