Ex classified products

We supply a wide range of components and installation products for use in hazardous location.

In North America, classifications of hazardous locations have been developed differently compared to Europe. The classification in USA is stated in NEC article 500-516. The rules in Canada and Mexico are principally the same as in USA, minor variations exist.

NEC classifies hazardous locations in Class I, Class II and Class III, Division 1 and 2 and in sub-categories A-G. This is the most common classification even if IEC classification is allowed since 1996, NEC article 505. Note that the definitions in NEC article 505 and IEC are not identical.
